BRUCE GILDEN/PHOTOGRAPHY

THESE IMAGES ARE FANTASTIC! I love how invasive and genuine they are. Most of all I love the colours though. I love drawing portraits, just think faces are really interesting. Maybe I could try doing bits of photography to collage together or draw from??

STEFHANY LOZANO

Think these illustrations are beautiful. I feel the aesthetic and processes used to create these are very low-fi which is perfect for not over-shadowing the emotive content. The use of ink and texture feels quite naive which really represents the idea of young love that's being portrayed in these illustrations! A really relatable series of illustrations.

ELENI KALORKOTI

Adore Elani's juxtaposition of representational drawings with her abstract collages in her zine 'held'.I really love that she has very representative images of the girl being held in the hand, but also has really abstract confused but sad collages shapes. I think they sit so well together and stop the zine from becoming tedious or samey throughout.I think her story telling is exquisite especially how she communicates the idea of sadness through collage and pattern work.

SERGIY MAIDUKOV

MASSIVE FAN OF HIS SHAPE WORK!
I just think his use of simplistic shapes paired with bold colour palettes and pattern in the composition as well as the rendering is fantastic. It's simple but easily communicated and bring light to a sombre subject.

COLOURBOX AKA JOE ROGERS

Love his use of repetition and story telling through this! I feel his work is really organic and genuine through his use of soft colours and wet media and pencil crayon. I also think his work is so striking because of his full use of a page, I love the moods he sets with his use of background as well as his expressions in the portraits.
