Took"Illustration Next" book out of the library, found some really inspiring illustrators and ways of working.
EKTA
Part of a series called 'figures.' Its made using collaged pieces of spray painted paper. Really like the use of monochrome and gradient colours. Also find the composition to be exciting, especially the texture created by the stripes.
AHU SULKER
Created with ink on newsprint. Love the use of repetition and pattern, however in detail each vignette is slightly different. Looks really effective as a collective and strong on their own!
JEONG HWA MIN
The piece is called 'swimming pool' and is taken from his personal work. It's made with acrylic & pencil. I think the textures made from the pencil crayons is great, it looks very organic and heart warming almost. I also love the overall crafting of this piece, it's so precise it looks digitally produced however creates textures and depth digital work lacks.
KYLE PLATTS
This piece was created for Nobrow, it's entitled Robert Doppleganger, and is created with rotring pens and lithograph print. I absolutely love the print quality lithograph creates, I really want to try it out at some point! I also again love the colour palette in this piece, and the way the colour completely fills the page.
